Overview
The Veyari as a race come from Crimson Vail, a region called Far-Away, in this region even with lots of species created purely in and for war veyari (originally Tail-Whisperers (oldest sub-race)) were one of the speceies originaly found in this region, yet because of their rapid ability to evolve and chaotic style of hunting, and developing they are considered to be a kin that clawed out from hell, being fox like beings that are only known humanoids who start with demon blood and have no need to aquire it through rituals. Veyari are also one of the only known species who dont originally have any magic tied to them and from archives they seem to develop magic only later in history from their species with a wolf like species called Tivants. Veyari are unique because of characteristics like: runic birthmarks, biology build around acid traits, rituals and chaotic behaviour.
Biology
Veyari are uniquely build biologically wise, having traits wide range of traits.
Physical Traits
- Tails: Veyari possess long, fox like, densely furred tails that are covered in a acid (PH of around 1.5) they are often use in fights and rarely covered by anything in terms of armor or cover because of them being covered in the acid that is in a form of oil like substance. Sometimes they are also used in communication by concentrating the acid in one place, that lets the sent change slightly and allows for quiet communication.
- Sent Communication: While in hunt or to signal emotions without making noise veyari utilise their rich in acid biology to change the density of acid to slightly change the acidity of their sent making it alot easier to comminicate.
- Split Jaws: One of the most unique traits in veyari are their jaws, most subkins have them split in the middle, the only subspecies that make an exception to this rule are Tail-Whisperers since their name "Single-Jaws" to blend in and because of their unique traits their jaws appear to not have the split and be a single element instead, they instead are able to change the shape of their jaw on the rules of very small shapeshifting element allowing the seem to fully vanish, but thier developing of the seem originally is much more brute and ritualistic, instead of letting the ability develop with time they use sharp object to cut the jaw clean down the middle, this results in more horryfying look of the jaw, instead of normal natuall and clean looking split their split always looks ruff by having ripped tissue always in place of the split and slow unstoppable bleeding while the jaw is kept in the split form.
- Venom: The veyaris teeth are covered in a neurotoxin, the species can choose should it be produced so it is not always present on their teeth. The advantage of that controlled distribution is the ability to deliver non-fatal bites.
- Runic Birthmarks: Because of their species demonic origin veyari are born with runes on their body (places like shoulders, upper arms, back, stomach or thighs), these may grow if in extreme situation.
Lifespan and Growth
Veyaris age can vary but can reach from 150 years to even above 500 years for most sub-speceies with yet again Single-Jaws being the weird ones because of their inability to die purely of off old age, they mature like humans up to their 20s but after reaching the age of 20 their ageing proces quickly starts slowing or even sometimes stops fully.
Anatomy
Veyaris unique origin and characteristics make for a very unique and versitile anatomy with an unique and almost complex mix of characteristics.
Tail Acid
The tail of these creatures is one of the most advanced and strongest parts of their body. Being build with abnormally strong muscles and also being quite long with the tails length reacing around 1/3 of the creatures height. Another one of tails traits is that it is coded in substance made to disolve most organic and even some inorganic matters, the substance reaches a max PH of around 1 and is in structure kind of simmilar to stomach acid yet with stronger and diffrent properties, veyari are almost fully immune to acid and that allows it to reach that low on PH scale.
Acidic Saliva
With their acid endurance to allow for quicker biting off big chunks of thier prey their saliva is strongly acidic to allow for quick melting of organic matter like flesh but also to weaken things like clothes so they would be easier to bite of. The other acids that are emited by veyari allow this one to be weaker and that makes this one possible to produce alot quicker.
Venom and maw capabilities
Veyaris maws are one of their biggest wepons, the presance of neurotoxin and the ammount of control they have over it allows for quick and deadly attacks on prey, the control also makes it posible to render the toxin not deadly and use it only to paralise prey but that leaves it fully concius and aware making that a very cruel way to torture a prey. Other unusual thing about the construction of the maw is their toungue which is around 30cm (1ft) long and passively emits small ammounts of the toxin.
Mist Emission
One of the species called Vakyn-Sar developed a diffrent aproach in evolution to hunting, every other species used high concentraded oil like acid to hunt but Mist Wardens developed instead only slightly less potent acid but in a form of mist, this allowed them to attack their prey while leaving it incampacitated and in pain making it imposible to fight back if the prey has even small wounds, they are also alot more sensitive to their unique sent making them able to comunicate for distances over 50m without making any noises. The presence of the mist form even with all of the advantages at night or in close distance hunts makes hiding in the day harder because of the hue around them.
Split Muzzle
The lower jaws of all veyari species (except Single-Jaws) are made with two halfs that naturally split down the middle, they were engineered by evolution to easily close around necks of prey allowing for inhumainly quick and effective kills. Also this characteristic allows for unique sounds to be made. The evolutinary advantage of this jaw structure is easy ripping appart meat and easy reach for normally barely accesable parts of meat.
Culture
Veyari culture is built around a deep respect for power, individuality, and the mystical forces that govern their world. Their society is highly structured, with clear roles assigned based on age, strength, and magical aptitude. Though Veyari have a reputation for being solitary and enigmatic, they form strong bonds within their clans and are fiercely protective of their kin.
Rituals
- The shizm ritual this ritual is one used by Single-Jaws to split their jaw. It starts by using a knife that is extremly heated, than runes are eched onto the jaw with three X runes eched in bloodlines that try not to associate with demon blood in them, and alot more respected Y runes that are used in demon bloodlines or bloodlines who want to be close to their nature. Than when the runes were burned onto the jaw an obsidian peace or if none are avalible a sharp object is used.
- The shift ritual This ritual is one of the of the less bloody ones as it is a ritual that allows 2 veyaris to share their energy as a something akin to survival strategy.
Armor
Veyari armor is unique in that it must accommodate their runic birthmarks, that means not covering any of the runes with only exception being jaw runes.
Armor Styles
- Glyph-Flow Style: A popular armor design among younger Veyari, the Glyph-Flow style features an open design, allowing the runic birthmarks to be fully visible. The armor typically leaves the midriff and arms exposed, emphasizing freedom of movement while still covering vital areas.
- Runeforged Armor: This type of armor integrates the wearer’s runic birthmarks into the material itself. Crafted using enchanted metals and infused with magical energy, Runeforged armor provides excellent protection while maintaining the spiritual connection between the Veyari and their runes.
- Mistbond Carapace: This kind of armor is alot more unique than other kinds of armors utilised by this speceies, it is mostly used by demonic bloodlines and it uses mostly dark arts to stop the attack allowing for it to be easily consealed and to not limit movement.
Subspecies
Over centuries of evolution and adaptation, the Veyari have split into several subspecies, each with unique traits and abilities. These subspecies have adapted to different environmental conditions and magical influences, resulting in a diverse array of Veyari.
Other Subspecies
ones that arent "the normal" Veyari kind called "Split Jaw"
- Valyn-Sar (Mist Wardens): Valyn-Sar are known for a weird and unusual form of acid, as other sub species of veyari release the acid via liquid or some kind of acidy goo with PH of about 1 Mist Wardens release a mist with a simmilar PH, this gives off a very visible hue and a unique stench, since the name.
- Korath-Kun (Firewalkers): living in hotter regions they developed unigue ability to conjure fire at the cost of their acid and strength.
- Single-Jaw (Tail Whisperers): this subkin has weaker magic and pheromonic strenght but their acid and physical aspects are a lot more visible and stronger, this subspecies can live a lot longer than normal veyari sometimes reaching even a couple of milenia, the result of longer life spans is their magical weakness because it is dulled. Because of their magic weakness their bodies are able to spread out the energy.
- Nyvessari (Acidshadows): this subspecies is mostly to see in places rich in acid they posses a unique ability to shift into form made mostly of acidic substance, highly agile but weaker in physical aspects.
- Vanderas (Matrons): Matrons are a subspecies that connects the physical aspects of Single-Jaws with strength of the acid from Acidshadows, while also having an uniquely big size. They are very rare and unique about one per hundred Veyari
